Unless you’ve been living under a rock or without electricity for the last two years, you’ve had to notice the big push with air fryers. Not only is this kitchen gadget arguably here to stay, but we are going to share with you some of our favorite tips, tricks, and benefits to air frying.

What Are The Benefits to Air Frying?

There are a lot of reasons why the air fryer is our new favorite kitchen appliance. Here are just a few:

It’s arguably got health benefitsCooking with less oil and fatsCirculating hot air and high temperatures is what “fries” the food, not hot oilThe cooking process is shortened into less time than normal

Air Fryer Advantages

I won’t say that I’ve always been healthy, that’s definitely far from the truth. However, when I started air frying foods, I started to really pay attention to what I was putting into my body. To this day I still eat all of the fun foods I grew up with, but now I am having healthier meals with less oil and fats. Some of my favorite foods are french fries, chicken wings, and other deep-fried food such as sweet potato fries. However, now that I use my air fryer, I can skip the deep fat fryers and use a healthier alternative such as the air fryer. Another bonus: air frying is a great way to make dinner quickly when you don’t have much time on your hands.

How is the air fryer a great option for healthy meals?

Instead of deep frying foods with lots of vegetable oil and high calorie fats, you can cook your foods with a ciculating fan and heating element that will essentially take a lot less oil, if any. How does it work? The circulating hot air helps crisp the outside of the food while cooking the inside of the foods. This circulating air, a little oil, and high heat are what give air-fried foods a deep fried taste, but without all of the fats. While a traditional deep fryer uses a lot of oil, the air fryer in turn only uses a little bit of oil and a fraction of the cook times for a conventional oven. The good news is that food cooks to perfection and instead of frying in a gallon of vegetable oil, you can use a spritz of olive oil to help give your foods that delicious, deep-fried flavor. Other Air Fryer Benefits

One of my favorite things about air fryers is the fact they are transportable and take up very little counter space. For instance, if you’re looking to take a vacation in the mountains, your air fryer won’t take up much space and is a perfect addition to camping. Not only is it an easy way to cook meals, but air frying your favorite camping foods such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and even steaks come out juicy and delicious in the air fryer. Not only that, but you’ll love the crispy texture of all of your favorite foods without the added fat content from traditional frying methods. When cooking with the air fryer, you can also use your choice of oils. We’ve even written an entire article about oils and their smoke points and when you should use one oil over another.
